Read on to be educated on what you need to know to make the best buying decision for your home.
Pricing
If you’re in the market for new K-style aluminum gutters near Idaho Falls, expect to pay between $500-$2,000 including installation.
$7 per foot for a new gutter system installed.
That price may seem vague, right? If you want a more exact estimate, measure the length of your current siding and multiply it by $7 to get a more accurate number.
If you’re in need of a gutter replacement, make sure to schedule an appointment before the spring. The demand for gutter repair skyrockets during the spring after the harsh winters come to an end.
Winter Weather
Harsh winters mean snow and ice build up leading to overflown and blocked gutters. At my home our stairs become a deathtrap of slippery ice every winter.
Turns out there is a simple solutions, and it starts with the down spout. The itsy bitsy spider needed to go down a spout not a chain. Downspouts are cheaper than chains and don’t accumulate as much ice build up. When paired with a de-icing cable, the flow will not be interrupted.
You can find a de-icing heating cable at Home Depot starting at $65. The key is the cable needs to go along the entirety of the gutter and all the way down the down spout. Many even choose to triangle zigzag the cable on part of the roof as well to further melt the snow right into the gutter.
Gutter Guard
To reinforce those heating cables, gutter guards might be a strong option to consider. Gutter guards will keep large ice chunks from falling in and overpowering your system. Too much weight can cause more permanent damage to your gutters. As an added bonus gutter guards will keep large debris and leaves out of your gutters.
Cheap options will not withstand the ice so be sure to ask a professional what to consider and for a quote including ice friendly guards.
